Reality Check

I love this image.... I received this invitation card from the Nasher Sculpture Center two years ago and it has been on my desk ever since. It is a reminder that what people say is right, correct, fact, or reality sometimes changes with the wind. This statue reflects the standard of beauty for women in its day. The rounded voluptuous shapes are certainly not in vogue today! Get this woman on Weight Watchers! And there are so many more things of this nature that merely follow along with fashion and popularity. The current accepted standards and mores may not be FACT or TRUTH in the big picture of things!
